About Department

The Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Program was started in Fall 2019 in the Department of Microbiology. Now it is a full-fledged department. At present the department consists of five faculty members and four non-teaching staff. The growing scope of the MLT program attracts many students at the undergraduate as well as at the graduate levels.
The MLT department focuses on the theoretical and practical training of students by deputing them in different laboratories of hospitals and research organizations for internship. For this Kohat University of Science and Technology signed memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with different hospitals and laboratories of country. The MLT program is relevant to the needs in local and regional healthcare setups. In perspective of the flourishing and ever-growing scope of MLT. The department is establishing equipped and state of the art laboratories. Meanwhile, student having access to all relevant Laboratories for routine practices in different relevant departments of the University. Moreover, the students and faculty are provided opportunity to participate in national and international workshops and conferences for their career enhancement.
