I am glad to invite you to three day National Workshop “Future of Medicinal Plants in Cancer Research & Therapy” to be held at Iftikhar Auditorium, KUST, Kohat, KP on October 23-25. 2018. Background Despite the tremendous advancement in formulating new drugs to combat various types of disease, including cancer still a lot of research work is needed to find a true and real therapy for cancer. WHO reports alarming concern about the increasing number of cancer patients worldwide and cancer still remains a major burden on global health. Latest figures of WHO say that every year more than 14 million new cases of cancer are diagnosed globally and this number will reach around 20 million by 2025. Cancer is also very high in Pakistan. Among Asian countries, Pakistan is leading in Breast Cancer incidence. Pakistan is lying in the third world country where traditional medicine being commonly used for the treatments of different disease including cancer. Plants have been used for years for the treatments of various diseases including cancer.  The medicine is usually prepared from different parts of the plants which contain various chemical components with varying pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics activities. By discovering an effective herbal treatment could lead to the development of an alternative and complementary method of treating and preventing different cancers.
